I have read on these forums that they are not the most accurate ways to measure your body fat, but my question is for someone who just wants to keep a check on their body fat and how much they have lost would it be a wise investment even if it is a few percentage points off?

And if anyone on here has them any recommendation on which brand to get?

They are not accurate, I have a tanita scale and it gives me diferent readings in the morning and afternoon or from one day to the other.

I agree, they're useless. This personal trainer I work with has one he spent $130 on, it's an Ironman Scale, and he's all proud of it and he was having everyone he knows use it. I used it three times in a row and got different reading each time... not only a couple of points either, it went from 19% to 31% in about 3 minutes... and it said I have the metabolic rate of a 50 year old man... since I'm 32, train 4 days a week and eat every 2 - 3 hours, I'd say it's a little off
