I've researched ways to prevent gout and ways to fight it once it starts: Some proven ways: Pineapple - bromelain is a natural substance that helps. Cherries Reducing or eliminating protein (ouch). Drinking ample amounts of water to dilute the uric acid. Taking Colchicine (medicine) Vitamin C supplements: two 500 mg, twice per day = 1000 mg Tomato based products Elimination alchohol (beer and wine seem to be the worst) Avoid eating foods that cause or worsen gout symptons such as gravy. Staying and increasing activity: walking, weight training, etc. Anyone else have a recipe or other concoctions? |
