my problem with push/pull/leg

I know everyone loves push/pull, and i think its a really good idea too..considering its near impossible to overtrain

well one of my frineds at my gym is a big advocate of chest/bicep then back/tricep and i tried explaining push/pull to him. He agreed with most of what i had to say, but he told me to try something...he said just do one day with chest/bicep...so i said okay

i had an amazing bicep workout!! I was able to curl another 10lb easily
I guess when i do back, i burn my bicep out a good amount, so it weakens my ability to do curls etc

so in my case, would another plan be better?
Tomorrow im gonna try back/tricep just to see if i get the same results...

I see where ur coming from dude. But for me personally, my bi's would be too sore than to have a back workout after a chest/bi workout. I used to have a day for arms but i felt i was overtraining the bi's.

If your main concern is Ego and how much weight you lift then do chest/bicep type workouts.

lifting less weight is a good thing- i think push/pull are the best thing for a person wanting big/strong bis/tris- ur telling me ud rather get less results just to show people in the gym u can lift 10lbs heavier than you usually lift! stop the bs and do push/pull/legs

having an amazing bicep workout means jack in the grand scheme of things. they are such a small muscle group.

no no ego is deffinitely NOT my concern...coming from a guy who benches sets of 135, i dont care what people see me lifting at the gym.
by the time i finish back and get to biceps, theyr so worm out already
I just figured more weight = hitting the muscle harder...guess not

but as long as im still gettin a good workout, im gonna stick to push/pull.
thanks

I don't think there's anything especially wrong with doing back-tri and chest-bi, but of those two I much prefer push-pull myself. Just don't do the workouts back to back. You don't want your biceps limiting your back workout the following day, ya know?

I had the same peeve when I made the switch. My tris were so dead on Push days that my tricep portion of my workout was weak.

P-funk quickly made me realize that the whole idea of working out is to work your muscles. If my triceps are burned, theyre burned because theyve worked extremely hard in which case the tricep portion of the workout might not have been entirely needed.

Capiche?

ok first u must try not to overload ur biceps in back exercises try not to get them involved a lot just ur back then after u finish the back have a couple of minutes for rest and drink plenty of water ...then do ur biceps without warming up ofcourse because they r warmed up already in the back...u must be able to finish them in less sets
