Does supplement marketing influence you?

For example, when you buy a bottle of something from say, Designer Supplements, and the bottle has a DNA double helix that is expertly photoshopped to blend chemical shapped compounds all intertwined in a vortex with the product name, and each gel caplet is coated in flurescent green with a ds logo on the side of it--does this make it seem more effective than another product in a boring brown bottle with white tablets?

Discuss.

We don't have our logos on the capsules. Yet. And we have nothing in flurescent green.

Hey man, I'm not knocking it, I think it looks cool as hell.

Posted by: Twin Peak

Um, but we don't do it. I'd like to, but we aren't producing in nearly the right volume to get custom capsules.

No, but then again I'm not dim witted enough to fall for eye candy.

You must have gone nuts when looking at the old packaging for NO-Xplode and Nitrix.

I guess I too succumb a bit to flashy packaging, but moreso flashy advertisements. Do I end up buying the product? Not for those reasons, but tend to read the descriptions of a company's product before looking up a bulk supply of the supplement's active ingredient.
Speaking of that though, I just got over that hump - was using AX Perfect Cycle for liver support but now buying in bulk from nutraplanet.com... milk thistle @ $9 dollars lasts me the entire cycle, ALA and NAC are also in there.

the ONLY thing that makes me want to buy or try a supplement is people's experience or reviews with them.

I will say yes when I was a newbie like 5 to 10 years ago, but now I just read the reviews and browse forums to look at other user experience. If it's positive, then I just usually look at main ingredients and buy in bulk myself.

It did when I was 14 and 15 but after than I knew 99.9% of it was BS.

same.

Some people tell me that they buy twinlab products because of the bottle

Supps with flashy labels always catch my eyes but when I buy supps, I always read the facts on the back for each product before I decide on a purchase. If the facts are shady, which they usually are with flashy-label supps, I tend not to buy them.

I wouldn't buy them, but i am really attracted to the new plastic-wrapped brightly coloured tubs sold by MuscleTech and EAS right now.

Posted by: Twin Peak

The large tubs of ON have a cool full length black wrapper, that look much nice than the white tubs.

I find this comment to be racially divisive.

When I was new to the whole thing it did. Not anymore though. Atleast I would like to think so.
