Directions: As a dietary supplement, take 4 caplets 3 times daily 30 minutes before eating with 16 ounces of water. On workout days take one of your 4 caplet daily servings prior to working out on an empty stomach with 16 ounces of water.

From what the directions say, they want you to take 12/ed, even on non training days. Take 30 min before breakfast, if you workout in the afternoon take 30 min before that with out eating, and another 30 minutes before you eat dinner. Non training days do the same.
