i have this nasty tasting protein powder(vanilla orange) so it wouldnt be a good idea to make bars, right?
I might try it any way and im cutting so all ill eat is 6 protein bars a day
im thinking of these ingredients(all i have)
vanilla orange whey protein
peanut butter
olive oil
oats
thats all i can think of- can some1 tell me the amount of ingedients i should use to make about 12 bars- i want each bar to be about 330 calories because I am going to have 6 a day for a total of 2000 calories, i figure its healthy because ill be getting my good fats(olive oil, peanut butter) ill be getting my protein, and my good carbs(oats)
any comments?
so is it ok to just eat this 6 times a day and nothing else as a cut, and can some1 help me with the ingredients so that each bar is 330 calories, and about 25 grams of protein for a total of 2000 calories a day, and 150 grams of protein a day??

i never made them i have no idea of how much/what ingredients to use all i know is i want each bar to be 330 calories and have 25 grams of protein and I will definitly be using
orange vanilla whey protein
oats
peanut butter
and maybe olive oil
so can somebody help me with the ingredients and if it is ok to just eat 6 of these a day for a cutting diet ill be gettin good fats from olive oil/peanut butter and good carbs from oats- can I please get a good answer.this would be really easy for me, because I always have a hard time staying on a diet because there is nothing healthy to eat in the house, or at school, so ill just carry a couple in my pocket and have 6 a day
something like this
6:30 wake up
7:00 protein bar(home)
10:30 protein bar(school lunch time)
12:45 protein bar(in between class)
3:00 protein bar(home)
4:00 lift
5:00 protein bar(home)
7:30 protein bar(home)
10:30 sleep
macros 2000 calories, 150 grams protein, i dont know homw much fat/carbs yet until I get ingredients...

Post your stats also... height, weight

Don't you think you need to throw some vege's in the mix?

Posted by: mike456

instead of 1 of the bars i might just have a huge plate of veggies at home or ill take a multi-vitamin, this is only gonna be until I get down to about 170-180lbs, than ill start bulking with lots of clean food
im around 6ft, 230lbs, lots of bodyfat- i would estimate 28%bf maybe

i know people are gonna say i need more protein but I think 150 is enough for me, i usually only get 80grams lol no wonder I havent been gaining much muscle

so any ides on the ingredients for making 12 bars, 330 calories each and 25-30 grams protein
right now i have
vanilla orange whey
oats
peanut butter
olive oil
I do have other stuff but I do not know what I should put in it, please help

You have 57.33 pounds of fat and 176.67 pounds pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water).

here are my stats-
weight- 234lbs
waist- 46inches
hips- 45

What are the stats on your protein powder? Pro - Carb - Fat

Posted by: mike456

22-6-2

You could try throwing in some egg whites to bind it together when you cook it.. just a thought..

Its still not a good idea just to eat bars if you're cutting.... read the stickies on nutrition, there are diet plans in there for you to follow.. cutting & bulking.

Posted by: mike456

thanks for your answer katt, but can you please give me a reason, because the bars i make have all the nutrition I need, oats, ricotta cheese, peanut butter, whey protein, milk

Let me get this right.... You are going to eat protein bars for every meal??

Ok - although technically speaking, if weight loss is all you are trying to achieve then any diet that runs you at a signigicant enough calorie deficiency will work.... But you have to think about things in regards to your total lifestyle and also in terms of your health.

And eating the same thing for each meal, and eating a diet void of things such as fresh fruit and vegetables and all those other things (legumes, whole grains, whole nuts and seeds etc etc) is NOT setting you up for a healthy eating pattern and is certainly not healthy (physically and, to a certain extent, 'mentally' and emotionally as well).

If you are going to just focus on the weight you at least need to get vitamins, minerals and fiber too (and no - taking a pill is not a substitute)... Bars made from oats, ricotta cheese, pb whey ane milk are not going to offer you all the nutrients you need - they are also not going to offer you the full spectrum of other benefits that other foods have - such as the other health effects (eg: lowering cholestersol, lowering blood pressure, anti-cancer effects etc) of fruits and vegetables too...

Some fish oils would also be a good idea to increase your omega-3 content (6g a day) and I would also suggest you get more protein than this - especially if you are running at a calorie deficiency and if you are pretty active. I would aim for 1-1.25g per pound lean mass (180-200g).

I agree with Emma.

Eating nothing but protein bars is just not an appropriate plan.

Take a little extra time to plan proper meals.

Read the stickies.
