He was just sentenced to 18 months in prison for parloe violations.

It's such a shame what drugs have done to him. He could have been such an incredible Hall of Fame player. But instead, he pissed his career away due to drugs. I would love to have seen what he could have done on the field if he stayed clean. Perhaps 500 home runs and 3500 hits. But we'll never know.

Maybe this will be a lesson to others......??

One or two maybe but I doubt most will learn. The kids that turn pro just keep getting younger and younger with no chance to mature before someone flashes millions of $$$ in their faces. That's one of the reasons I hate basketball so much, they're just a bunch of overpaid, illiterate criminals.

Pssst...ALBOB! Darryl Strawberry plays (played) baseball!

Yeah, yeah..........Piss off! I was ranting about professional sports in general, with basketball being the worst of the bunch.

I agree all sports are starting to turn to thugs and not true men and women. I can't stand how any sports player can get way with almost anything without falling like any old joe.

I think it's good for DS. Having been house-arrested for his previous encounters with drug conviction was no good to bring him back as a normal person. Hopefully, spending in jail for 18 months will make him realize that the life is too short to waste his life through drugs. It will be a good wake up call for him.

Kind of reminds me of Robert Downey Jr.

Downey and strawberry are idiots, but the public will welcome them with open arms if they rehabilitate. SICK

very true, at least for Robert.

being incarcerated will not help a person like Strawberry. especially these days when it's so easy to get drugs in prison. he's had more than enough chances given to him. time for him to pay the piper.

Well now, if they truely do rehabilitate I think they should be welcomed back. Unfortunately I think what you meant to say is very true, they'll get welcomed back before PROVING they are truely rehabilitated.
