Although it seems insane, there were recently released plans in the 60s (Operation Northwoods) which were signed by the joint chief of staff, to blow up a ship and blame it on Castro. This kind of thought isn't new. It's also how Hitler convinced his people they should invade Poland.

Most "conspiracies" are simply people performing revisionist history to fit it into their world view.

I've watched the whole thing and feel its ultimate conclusion that our leaders did the act for under 400million in gold is rediculious...400million is a drop in the bucket for them.

Maybe I'm naive....I'd rather be that than a paranoid conspiracy theorist though.

I'm not really paranoid, but I'm not closed minded either. Unfortunately we will probably never know one way or the other, because the only investigation ever performed on this incident was extremely late and grossly underfunded compared to previous investigations of serious national occurences. It just seems fishy to me when the top officials in the government stonewall an investigation of this attack and then proceed to be very touchy about being interviewed on the topic as well (Unrecorded, unofficial, won't sign anything, strict time limit, over a year later, etc.)
