Numbness

My pinkie finger of my right hand has been numb or asleep for a few weeks now and yesterday my little toe on my left foot has been numb or asleep. Is this something I need to get checked out? What's going on?

First off, what did you do?

Second, it could be a few things...Pinched nerve being a probable culprit. What event prompted this?

I have no idea what prompted it. I thinking maybe from being at the computer for long periods of time for my pinkie, that's when I noticed it kept going numb, now it's just always numb.

Wild ass speculation (since we have little to go on here):

peripheral neuropathy, vitamin-related.

B6 deficiency. Might try B6 and taurine, plus magnesium in a soluble form (gluconate, citrate, malate, acetate).

If this doesn't work, switch B6 forms to whats called P-5-P; this came up on another forum today, and it makes sense that some of us won't convert the cheap synthetic commercial form of B6 to its biologically active counterpart.

The fact that you have the numbness in hand and foot does not lend itself to a cause from pinched nerves.

There maybe other causes; this is just a guess off the top of my head. You got diabetes, arthritis or asthma in your family history?

You took the rest of your vicodin didn't you?

I had the same problem in my pinky after trying to pull a cord apart. My trainer told me I had bruised a nerve and that feeling would return within a 3-4 weeks and it did.

If the numbness persists see a doctor!!! There are so many things it could be-- it is so much better to be safe then sorry. I went through something similar ( not saying you have it) but I was diagnosed with MS. It started with tingling in my hands, then my arms then my feet and legs... then my face. I shrugged it off for awhile thinking it was just a virus or something... but something in me said there is something else going on.. Eventually after MRI's and blood tests for mimick diseases (lupus, lymes disease, etc)it was confirmed I have MS. If I kept going on brushing it off I would be so much worse then I am now...
All the best of luck )
