However, I did not know that I would be that bad. For those who haven't taken the test, I was forced to walk at 3.4 MPH for 12 minutes at a higher incline each minute. After the test was over, I did not feel fatigue or short of breath, but I was told that I flunked. I'm confused. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I thought the point of a treadmill test was to derive a theoretical VO2 max or a submaximal VO2 uptake and compare it relative to the norm for that person's age group and sex. This lets you know what to focus on when someone suggests they want general health improvements...
