Anyone ever "pull" and oblique? Yesterday when doing heavy 1 rep deadlifts I felt something "pop" on my right abdominal side. Is was a discomfort and I realized it was an obligue muscle (just one). I guess I strained it. It hurt last night but is mostly better today. I skipped legs today (and will do them tomorrow to give it a rest.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this....

I once felt a popping doing deadlifts, but it was in my lower back on the left side. I did not finish the workout, and did not do any back exercises for about one month. After the time off, I started up again and have had no problems since.

It was uncomfortable sore for about a week, and then started to slowly get better.

Yeah, I have hurt my lower back before but this oblique thing was weird. I think I just strained it (did 435 for one) and should be okay by tomorrow.

Yep. Did it actually of the driving range. Ripped the sucker in a bad way. Then proceeded a few days later tearing up my front lawn and made it worse. Couldn't swing a gold club or anything else for almost 9 months!!!!

When this happens, how long should you lay off using or putting stress on the muscle?

my creaky old frame hurts a lot ...think I have pulled more than I know the names of...just rest it and back off on the heavy 1RM ...worst pull was under my arm just above the oblique , took about 2 weeks before i tried DLs again, and at a lower wt..
