Is this an alright procedure?

Usually I add whey to my oats after they have been cooked, I simply dump it in and stir.

Well I'm going to be travelling this weekend and want to try and take baggies of oats and cook them at random times. I can already measure out the oats and whey, put them in a bag, then easily dump it all in a bowl and cook it. this would be the most convenient.

however, I think I tried cooking whey in the microwave once before and the results werent too great.

it is just hard to carry around seperate containers of whey powder, but if I have to I will.

Cook it at low low power for much longer....otherwise you'll have a big chunky mess. Whey doesn't nuke very well.

alright, thanks!

I might just try to find some film canisters and mix after cooking.

I find if I heat up whey or add hot liquid to it it goes all chunky and kind of curldles. Looks disgusting.

Do Not Use The Microwave

Posted by: assassin

y is it harmful or what?

Posted by: 911=InsideJob

Microwaving food destorys a lot of the nutrient and takes away a lot (or all) of the "life force" in the food. It also changes some of the cell structers to it, for example if you microwave water and pour it on a plant, that plant will never grow. There's a reason why microwaves are banned in Russia.

ummmm .. even for just a minute or less??

Yeah, the microwave should NEVER be used, not even for one second. Just think about it like this America has the highest rate of cancer and disease in the world, so obvoiusly we're doing someting wrong (we microwave and eat tons of chemicals in our food).

If I wanna heat something I just stick it in the toaster oven. Sure it takes longer but it tastes better and is healthy.

ummm ... i always thought about the effect of the microwaves on food composition and particles ... umm i think i'll start using a toaster instead....

Any university studies showing conclusive proof?

I'll make a new thread about it

Whenever I used to mix whey/milk @ oats it ended up like concrete. What is a toaster oven? Doesnt it just make bread into toast?

i cooked the oats first. Then, I threw in the protein.

Posted by: Martinogdenbsx

just have a seperate shake with oats + water cooked in the microwave

I find whey mixed in with oats is DIS-GUST-ING

Posted by: juggernaut

I only do it when I order chocolate protein. Banana sucks ass in oats as does vanilla. Chocolate mint from www.allthewhey.com kicks ass in oats.
