Tim called out Fedor. Who would win?

Discuss.

Posted by: fufu

ummmm. Fedor.

Posted by: bigss75

I don't know. Fedor is really good, but Tim hasn't fought anyone that quality, I think he could rise to the occasion and make it a good fight.

There's nothing to discuss it's too obvious

Posted by: bigss75

Fedor has not fought a true quality heavyweight since Mark Coleman which is over two years ago. All his oppents have been either under 230 or that one obese slob.

I repeat

Agreed. As is the case with most of the Pride fighters. The best fighters in the world are in Pride, but the talent pool is VERY shallow. You have a few guys at the top and then there's nobody else. They are so dominant because they fight nobodys, and in this case, Mark Coleman hasn't been a top heavyweight since the late 90's.

That would be an excellent fight. I really don't know who to choose. That's a tough one.

Please, I saw your training logs. You can barely overhead press 85 LB's.

Tim would seriously shit his pants again....as he did when he fought Silva. This time it would not be due to any flu though.

Nog isn't a "true quality" heavy weight? What about Cro Cop?

They are both in the 215-230 range, he hasnt seen a guy over 240 since 2004

Zulu.

No MMA fan could ever say PRIDE's HW talent pool is shallow when the comparison is UFC........who have really two decent guys.

At the end of the day, Fedor has beaten better ground guys than Tim, better stand up guys than Tim, way bigger fighters than Tim, and big guys that are far better at striking than Tim (Sem).

And no HW fighter forces their own gameplan on their opponent throughout the entire fight better than Fedor.

I love how in the other thread you say making comparisons between the 2 organizations is gay. Yet here you are.....

Nobody is doubting the fact that Fedor would hand Tim his ass, but they are arguing that it's such an open and shut case that Pride is SO MUCH BETTER than UFC. Granted the top few guys are, but there is a steep drop off after the top 3 or 4 in Pride and any top guy in the UFC could and would give them a run for their money. Not to mention it all depends on what rules they'd be using. I think Silva is a better and more well rounded fighter than Liddell, but the fact they'll be fighting in a octogon and under UFC's rules defientely plays more into Liddell's hands.

P.S. I saw 2 MMA fans say it

You appear to have completely missed my point then.

I make no comparison at all between the orgs. There is a very real difference in the levels of the largest weight division of both companies though, and one which even the largest hater or nuthugger of either cannot deny and expect to be taken seriously.

And this I agree with. Sylvia wouldn't be in the top 5 in Pride, but to make a blanket statement that Pride is better than UFC is just plain retarded.

I believe I said much the same 24 hours or so ago.

Any top 10 heavyweight boxer would KO him in 2-4 seconds.

I agree. Standing up. But, if Fedor get them on the ground you'd see a fight end quick.

Posted by: BigDyl

I disagree. The boxer may tap fedor in the face a few times, but with fedors iron jaw, it's just like a mosquito flying around, and he will quickly clinch up with the boxer, and do a nasty uchi kari takedown or something like it. Then it's over.

Posted by: 911=InsideJob

My thinking is is that if Arlovski could drop Sylvia in 2 fights, and tag him several times in the third, then Fedor who is a lot more explosives could also drop Syvia as well. In Arlovski/Sylvia II, Sylvia was dropped and then got back up. If that were against Fedor, Fedor would jump right on top of Sylvia immediatly and do some serious ground and pound or go for a quick ass submission on Sylvia's long limbs.

I assume you missed his fights against Fujita and Mirko.
