I don't want to burst your bubble, but with football coming up your work outs are gonna be almost pointless. It could help to do light weight etc. You'll probably lift during football, and it'll be the asinine coaches workout, but if you want it you'll have to do it. Other then that you'll be both to tired, to sore, and burnt out to want to lift. That's a sad reality. I hate to say it, but you might be doing your coaches routines only for the next 9 months. That's how it goes. It's that or overtrain.

you basically just wrote out the routine you want in paragraph form.

I think you should go with total body push/total body pull split, you will really like it ang get to train frequently- something like this-
Total Body Push 3x5 90sec RI
ATG Squats
Flat Bench
Incline Bench
Military Press
Dips

Total Body Pull 3x5 90sec RI
SLDL
BB Bent-Over Row
DB ROw
Wide Pull-ups
Close Chins

DAy 1- Pull
Day 2- Off
Day 3- Push
Day 4- Off
Repeat

3x5-8reps
mon: benchpress

Go with the one I posted. And when football season starts. drop it and do what your coach says, if you don't want to do than dont join the football team.

Oh, yeah I hear you. If you want to by all means. If not go else where. I can say it's easy, and I can't say it's fun, but I love it. It's gotta be in your blood. If you think you can play, and you think you can handle it then go for it. You'll be 1 hell of a player by your senior year.
