It could help to do light weight etc. You'll probably lift during football, and it'll be the asinine coaches workout, but if you want it you'll have to do it. Other then that you'll be both to tired, to sore, and burnt out to want to lift. That's a sad reality. I hate to say it, but you might be doing your coaches routines only for the next 9 months. That's how it goes. It's that or overtrain.
