a pulled muscle in my delt area under the shoulder blade

A pulled muscle generally seems to respond best to leaving it alone, and starting light/easing into it once the pain starts to go away.

cool so just drop the weights down to like 40% or something ?

I would say that after you leave it alone for however length of time it needs to heal, then use a weight that does not aggravate the muscle again. I wouldn't try to quantify a percentage; use a weight that feels right.
