Random, but I thought I might shed some light.

I was talking to kid today that goes to a different school then I do. He goes to our rival school and were discussing weight lifting, football, and all that bullshit. He told me ( which I already knew ) that because this specific highschool doesn't enforce random drug testing they all take steroids. I asked him about it ( he didn't look natural at 16 ) and he said he'd done 2 cycle of Methyl-P ( which I haven't done a ton of research into ) but I know it's a PH. He said since then he had joint pains, a urinary track infection, mild gyno, and terrible headaches. I told him what the problem was, and he told me was deciding to just stick with regular steroids. This kind ignorance hurts me in the soul. It's the kind of person you just want to sock for saying something so idiotic. The thing that really bothered me was that his Dad had been buying him the PH's and was going to start him on a new cycle of steroids. I was appalled. Is that what highschool football is all about? To compete you need to take steroids. It's the norm of today, and I can't figure out why. Is it that important? I know 0 guys who juice on my football team and we're still a contender for district champions. It makes no sense. Just thought I'd throw this out their as a eye opener and a point to laugh at. Over 50 kids using steroids at age 14-18 just so they can be better at highschool football.

You forgot the rest of it...

Many that don't use steroids are into recreational drugs, drugs to wake up (stimulants), to go to bed (sleep inducers), to study (perception aides), to get high (sexual and social), to get turned on (ADD and depression treatment) and turned off (anxiety control). Binge drinking is near endemic. They have poor sleep hygiene, anxiety, depression, OCD, social deficit, eating disorders, some are obese, many are overweight.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

In adulthood, these kiddies will have more health problems than their parents, and their monthly drug bills will rival those of their unhealthy grandparents.

Oh, joy.

Aha, you described me in some of those words. I use pills to go to sleep sometimes, but I have insomnia. I binge drink on occasion, and I am overweight. I have depression, and I'm OCD, anxiety, but that's all chemical. And it's pretty mild in all cases.

Aha, I'm not addicted to anything. I take OTC advil. I'm your average teenage guy. I drink with friends, go party, and have fun. I don't do recreational drugs ( but I have friends that do ), and I don't any real issues. Trouble makes it sound a lot worse then it really is.

If you will, sir, begin dosing 4-6 times daily with inositol powder (Jarrow Labs, 8 oz bulk powder, cheap), 1 gram dose, last one before bed, you will find your insomnia, and OCD responding nicely. Along with it, if you will find an take methionine, in particular, sam-e (walmart, 15 day supply, 14 bucks) for several months, and then switch to L-methionine, we can also treat the depression and stress-related weight issue.

Nix the binge drinking - you are screwing with liver, and it will haunt you in just a few years. I know its what your friends do, try to curtail it to just a few drinks. It worsens your blood sugar control and your depression.

>I don't have any kind of depression about my weight.

No one said you did; you sped red my post.

> Not ashamed once so ever so I don't know about the depression & stress-related weight issues. I don't think the OCD needs treatment.

OCD is a mental disorder; its not natural and can worsen over time with stress. Its associated with low methylation activity and can be a precursor indicator of cardiovascular disease associated with homocysteine imbalances within folate metabolism.

>Insomnia though I'll look into, because it's a problem that's plagued my dad and me all our lives. Thanks for the information!

You're welcome. It can make a world of difference in how you feel in the morning and later on mid-afternoon.

Edit: I managed to edit your post instead of reply to it, sorry!
