Brown Eggs?!?!

Anybody else been eating these lately?? I got some, they are about twice the price of regular eggs but they have less cholesterol (which I know is negligable if you are just eating whites) and Omega 3 EFA's. What do you all think of them?

Also, I'm hella bulking right now. I eat for sure 6 times a day sometimes 7. I'm taking in a shit load of calories, but what I would like to know is I should really be more meticulous about where the calories are coming from as long as I'm getting a ton of protein and carbs and all the EFA's I need...cuz I make time to eat, but don't always have time to really cook anything...and cooking food can get kinda expensive for me. Don't laugh but here's mostly what I eat on an almost daily basis.

Breakfast: 5 am: 4 eggs, 2 slices WG wheat, 1/2 cup oatmeal, 2 cups low fat milk

Snack: Protein bar, 2 cups milk ( I can whoof this down while a client is warming up)

Lunch: 2 PBJ's heh. 2 cups milk

PWO: a high calorie protein shake mixed with 1 1/2 cups milk (see a pattern yet?)

1st Dinner: If I'm still stuck at work which is usually the case, I've been walking next door to subway between clients and getting a sub. The choice of sub varies but it's always on honey oat bread and a footlong....this time no milk heh.

Second Dinner: Usually....Hopefully, good ol fashioned mom's cookin...again can't really tell ya exactly what it might be..if she doesn't cook I might cook a frozen pizza or go out to eat...This could be as late as 8 or 9 o clock, pretty much too tired to cook...but if I damned have to and you guys have a good recipe for somethin cheap and quick with a lot of good cals I'm all ears.

Before bed: I have a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and maybe 1 1/2 cups milk.

Now I know that I'm eating enough, heh. I've put on like 12 pounds since I started bulking again, and this is in a pretty short amount of time. I'm not terribly concerned with fat gain, I'll cut later, not a big deal, but If this kinda diet doesn't support gains in LBM at the same time, then I can/need to make some changes.

I eat brown eggs a lot for lunch. Organic and no hormones added ( I know I talk about that a lot but that's the way it's gotta be). Starting to get sick of it but it gets the job done. Apperently it's the highest quality protien you can find in foods.

Ok brown eggs are no bettrer for you then white eggs. I raise chickens. Some are rhode island reds which lay the brown egg. The reason for the higher cost is those birds are larger in size and eat more. So if the cost for an egg is more due to the feeding, then the price of the egg is more.

Some oldtimers know a few things..

4 Whole eggs in one sitting IMO is too much. You should really stick with 2 eggs and 4 whites instead.

The million dollar question is "why?"

I'm not disagreeing, I'm learning. heh.

The fat content. 20G of fat coming from eggs alone in one meal is an awful lot.

ty, good point....besides buying a carton of egg whites...what is the easiest way to seperate them? Do they make egg white seperaters? It's not that I'm completely lazy, it's just that I already am kinda rushed to get to work on time getting up at 4:30 am...I couldn't imagine the thought of getting up earlier to seperate egg yolks...lol.

I just use the shell.

Don't buy the egg whites in a carton, its loaded with preservatives and chemicals. Regarding high cholestral, new studies show that eggs are good and arnt bad for you, with the yolk.

No, they arn't bad for you as dietary cholesterol has very little effect on blood cholesterol levels. However, you are ignoring the fact that 20G of fat just coming from eggs in one meal is not good.

SO the white part is better for you than the yoke?. I thought the white part had alot of cholestrol.. I am also learning.

Other way around. But again dietary cholesterol won't contribute much to blood cholesterol. A poor fatty diet comprised of sat and transfat combined with little exercise will.

A couple of yolks is okay....it's vitamin and mineral rich. Fair amoiunt of protein in there. Just don't overdo it.
