how are macro ratios measured?

i've always wondered if macro ratios are measured in calories or grams.

Let me try and clarify my understanding of your question, as it doesn't really sound proper.


Assuming your are following a 40/40/20 diet for example, then the numbers would be a percentage of you total cals and not grams of the specific macro.
