Isometrics beetter than weights?

Isometrics is resistance training. Why couldn't you duplicate most major lifts with isometrics done in 3 different ranges of movement (that correspond with a lifting exersice). Actually, you could install an adjustable bar in a doorway and do all the lifts by changing the height of the bar 3 times to complete the range of motion and work the muscle group through the entire range. Does this make sense?

This has probably been studied, but I just thought of it myself. Each lift would (of course) result in failure just like going heavy. What do you think?

isometrics only have a care over within about 10 degrees of the joint angle at which they were performed. that is not that great.

they are great for strengthening certain positions. i use them often and find them very beneficial in my programs.

but, you have to use full ROM lifts eventually.

muscles work eccentrically, isometrically, and concetrically.

you can't only train one function exclusivelly and expect the others to follow suit.
