Can you explain me to me whether it makes much a difference if my postwork-out shake is 35 grams of whey protein + LARGE banana or 35 grams of whey with oats (quick or normal type)

Theoretically, the absorption of the shake with the banana will be faster than the absorption of the shake with oats, because the carbs in the banana are easier to break down into glucose, as most of it is already sugar, as opposed to oats, where most of it is fiber and starch, and only a small amount is readily available simple sugar (sucrose and glucose).

However, there is some debate on whether fructose (which is ~40% of the sugar in a large banana) is delivered as quickly as the sucrose (~20%) and glucose (~40%), because it (the fructose) is handled differently by the body.

Regardless, yeah each shake would be processed differently.
