i'm trying to loose some body fat. I've read in articles around the net, that sugar as an energy source works in short bouts, and whatever isn't used, gets stored as fats. Does articificial sweetner do the same thing?

No, artificial sweetner doesn't get stored as fat. There is research that in large amounts it may stimulate insulin production but there is no validity to that theory. I prefer to stay away from aspartame as it has been shown to cause long term health problems. I stick with Stevia and sometimes I'll use splenda (aka sucralose).
