I noticed im paying almost double for my chicken breasts are are

4oz:
1g fat
0g sat fat

vs. the store brand regular chicken breasts
4oz:
3g fat
1g sat fat

Does it make any difference? I can the store brand (publix) chicken breasts for about 1/2 what I was paying!!

Also anyone know the calorie value for 5 oz of store brand chicken breasts? I use to just go by Perdue, but these are different

This is what I use to get:

Is the added fat, from the fat being on there? Do I still count it the same? I notice the store brand has more (White fat) but most people take that off.

No difference. Just cut off the extra fat.

So should I go by these nutrition facts still?

Exactly. Then grind it up. Spray a pan with pam. Place the ground chicken in the pan and add the following seasonings. Salt substitute, pepper, ground garlic and a little oregano. Top with a slice of nonfat cheese. Yummy

Why would anyone buy the 99% fat free ones, if these are the same? It's literally twice as much at my store. I think the ones I bought with 3 breasts in them were $3.75 or something. The ones with no visible fat (which comes off) with the same weight was like 6.50-7 something.

Your paying for the cost to cut and skin the breast and the convenience of not having to prepare the breast. Look at the per pound price of the skinless breast, frequently more than good steak.

Save even more, buy a whole chicken and cut and bone yourself.

That 2% is the difference between YOU taking out the rest of the fat or the chicken people doing it for you (hence more expensive).

Ya...I'm guessing most of you guys buy the ones with the visible fat, and take it off...

yeah usually. Sometimes i buy the split chicken breast with the bone still in that because it's like $1.00 a pound.
