Cardio question

I currently lift 3 days/week full body and like to run 3 days/week on off days. My goal is to cut a bit of fat with no muscle loss. I know that long bouts of cardio can be detrimental to your muscle and fast twitch muscle fibers, so would splitting my cardio up on off days say 20 minutes of jogging in the morning and 20 minutes at night be ok or would it be too much cardio? I also take 5-10 grams of BCAAs and 5 grams of Glutamine immidiately prior to cardio. I used to like HIIT but I suffered a groin pull and jogging is about as fast as I can go. Thanks for any help...

how would splitting it up be different then doing all 40min. in one shot? At the end of the day the caloric expenditure is going to net out about the same.

you might want to do some sprints on one day and steady state on another. Balance around the intensity of your leg days though. that is the important thing since you are hitting them on all three days. you need to change the intenisties around.
