It would be hard for me to say no to $100,000 at that age, even though I know I may get more if I became pro.

I think it would be hard for any of us at that age, with that kind of talent to say no to $100,000. but, that still doesn't make it right. there are rules. as an athlete you have to werigh the consequences.

If they prove it, will USC lose it's Championship?

Posted by: P-funk

I doubt it.

they shouldn't. Someone played that game. Someone won that game.

I agree. At least not the bowl...

Heisman isnt related. Its not like he spent the 100k on rocket boosters for his legs or something.

That's true, but if caught earlier he never would have earned that heisman. Thus, related...

Posted by: goandykid

Thats their fault, not his

Yeah, remember Peter Warrick. He all but had the Heisman won before he got the great idea to go knock over a Dillards. Duh, what a jackass.

I would take it whether or not its wrong or right. I have went through the college levels of athletics, ya I didnt play D1, but it was still very hard playing a sport, going to 5 classes/day, working, and working out.

I believe Joe Horn made the comment that atleast 80% of athletes in college are given money so they ought to be looking into everyone not just the most popular. Which completely makes sense, Bush's excellence maybe his downfall. What does he care though, hes making millions now and they cant take that away.

The ones that need to fry are the God Damn sports agents and boosters. They are NOT kids. They are adults that know the rules and break them over and over again. And these agents are a joke. They are responsible for all these athletes holding out for more money and wanting to renegotiate contracts.

Holding out to renegotiate a contract is my biggest pet peeve in pro sports. They sign these multi-year deals and have one solid year and want astronomical money to go back on the field the next year when there are 2 or3 years left on the contract.

I want to see this happen just once to one of these pompas asses:

1) Dude signs huge multi-year contract after having great year
2) Dude sucks the next year or two
3) Owner won't let him into camp or on the field until they renegotiate his contract down to a level that matches his shitty performance

If I was Reggie I would've took that money (like I think he did) and kept my mouth shut... i think he did the right way unlike your boy maurice now that was stupid

These kids should be paid, I'm sick of these schools making millions and millions off of them and then the kids get screwed for accepting $10,000 just to pay there bills. What a f-ing evil system that is.
