Amazing, looked like that was easy for him!

Posted by: TJ Cline

Wow!!!

So a raw squat is no knee wraps or super suit right??
What weight class is he?

Posted by: fufu

Fuck yeah, that was awesome. Nice and deep, no knee wraps either! Awesome lift.

Posted by: ReproMan

I don't know the weight class.

He looks like he is probably a heavyweight. Might not be a superheavy....depends on how tall he is.

I am speachless.

Nice...

But I just can't dig the powerlifting as much anymore -

eh, it is a raw lift...I am down with it.

Posted by: CowPimp

Now that's how powerlifting should be.

Posted by: SuperFlex

He's wearing a squat suit and has on a belt. Doesn't seem raw to me, but very nice...

Posted by: Gazhole

Hot damn...

Thats a staggering amount of weight for raw...

The belt is understandable, but that is just a singlet. It's not a squat suit.

Posted by: Mags

damn, he just kept getting lower and lower. My knees would've packed up and gone home for the night doing that weight with or without wraps. Strong dude.

they allow belts in raw lifting to protect the lifter when performing heavy max attepts, duh.

he is wearing a powerlifting singlet which you have to wear to compete, not a squat suit. it has no affect on performance what so ever.

seriously, if you don't know what the fuck you are talking about then don't post anything.

Posted by: ponyboy

He made that look ridiculously easy. Good job and amazing form.

Seriously, if I want to saw something, I will... But thanks for taking the time to explain what is considered raw in such an informative and polite manner. Good day to you sir...

Cool, thanks. Very impressive lift... Even with a suit.

did you not read what p wrote, or do you lack a cerebral cortex? that's not a suit.

Posted by: P-funk

sometimes I have to make it a little harsher....and as you can see, people still don't get it.

anyway, the reason i lashed out is because, if you don't know about powerlifting and you don't know that he is wearing a singlet, then don't fucking come on and discredit the guy....at least ask...."is what he is wearing a squat suit?". It is a fucking insult to the guy that is a competitor in a raw organizatin in my opinion.

Posted by: fufu

I think it is bad ass how they walk the weight out too.

Actually genius, I did read what he said. I said the lift was impressive even with a suit! I did not say he was wearing one!!! Got it? Good...

I get it alright... My first statement was already with the understanding it was considered raw. Even though I did not know the powerlifting rules the video clearly states that it's raw. It was just my opinion that it's not truly raw... but still impressive. Initially I thought he was wearing a suit. Dude just took what I said wrong...

Posted by: PWGriffin

Is that guy wearing a squat suit?? If so, then that's not raw IMO.

he made good on the 4th attempt and broke his own record...why didn't they show that video?? I bet it was a lot more intense

Hah, when some of these arguments come up on here, I wonder if people are REALLY tough or thats just how they speak. I cuss fluently, so I can see where some tension come from with me.

Ill have to watch this when I get home.

I think the comment was...

Even if had been wearing a suit, that seemed impressive
(I know, I couldn't do it)

haha....good question...

In all honesty, I am not tough or a bad ass at all. I honestly just curse every other word. I have a terrible potty mouth. it is just my personality.

even if he was wearing a suit (which he isn't cuz that singlet looks identicle to the one that i wear at wresteling and trust me they dont help worth a shit) it was a very impressive lift

Posted by: AKIRA

Looked pretty easy. Makes me think I can do it!

I cuss all the time, but when spoken, it sounds harmless. On paper, cussing and caps always seem harsh. And sarcasm is transparent.

I'm not trying to act tough. Fact is you will never see me attack someone verbally or otherwise unless me or mine is attacked. Or I feel a threat is evolving... I prefer peace, and pride myself at seeing all others as equals until/unless they lower themself... I'm with you on having to bite my tounge when that happens however. I'm still trying to learn that one...

Awww.

Hand jobs all around!

That's insane to me! It looks like it took less effort for that lift than it does for me to load a 45lb. weight on my bar.

BTW - I noticed the bend in the bar. Though it seems there is no mementum from that in the lift - why aren't they more rigid? I'm sure it takes off stress from pressure points. Just curious.

There are thicker bars out there that are more rigid. At a certain point though, you would have to have a ludicrously thick bar to prevent bending I think.

Here is one from EliteFTS:

Because although a stiffer bar would hold more weight, it risks shearing rather than buckling. Imagine the weights of one end all dropping becuase one end sheared. It is much more dangerous than if the bar just buckled.

Cool, and thank you. No problem...

Patrick and others covered this well, but a singlet is just like a wrestler would wear. Your socks provide more assistance with a lift than a singlet does.
