keep smoking and i'd like to see you run a mile in 8min.

whats the point in smoking? its not healthy #1. i don't smoke, drink or anything. i've chewed once or twice but than i figured it wasnt worth it.

I absolutly hate smoking first of all. However I have seen people in better shape than me smoke and run miles around the track all of the time. As far as effecting your gains (muscle wise), I would have to say no, however it may effect your performance. Kinda hard to do sets whenever you are coughing all over everything.

but will it affect weight and strength gains?

Posted by: stonev16

ohh ok thanks for the info

Now dont just take my word for it, find out from some others. Jodi is always a good person to ask about things like this, along with Trouble.

If she is in fact a pro, then her face is already nasty. Going to the Olympia always reminds me why I will never use steroids. The fitness models that everyone goes gaga over look like a dog mangled their faces and they were stitched back together. They all look so freaking nasty

I respect them for what they do but I don't want to ever look like them.

Smoking i thought contracts capilliaries, and that may not sound overly bad, but muscle that's not getting as much blood as it should will hurt you in more ways than one, less nutrients and waste management etc, might want to search the net as i'm just going on memory - could be hearsay

Hey, who cares if you get cancer, right? At least your MUSCLE GAINS won't be affected.

Jesus Christ.

"I solemly testify that cigarettes are not addictive and donot cause Cancer."

I know for me when I stopped smoking (2 months ago) I started to notice more gains,Dont know if it has anything to do with it or not But damn I feel better and got a little more jingle in my pocket.

I smoke.

It's a filthy habit and can only negatively affect your health. Besides, they lock me in a little "sound proof" smoking room at work and I can't hear what they are saying while they are laughing and pointing at me.

You gotta feel "left out" nowadays. Besides, I need that cigarette money for protein powder!

I've got a two week supply of the nicotine patches. I just can't read the instructions. I can't find my glasses.

On the serious side, my Dad died from pancreatic cancer... cigarette smoking a major contributor, by estimation.

I'll quit... Monday.

God damn! And thats a super moderator speaking!

Its funny to hear that though. These women workout all day and night, eat all this distasteful shit, just to look pretty hideous. Hah, they are working out hard to 'look' a certain way and yet, there are fellow women out there that say "I NEVER want to look like that."

I am not disagreeing, I really dont understand that shit.

Why dont we have another contest and see which woman can grow their arm pit hair out the farthest and smoke the most cigars?

I used Tobacco for 23 years and quit cold Turkey over 7 weeks ago. My skin looks better already and my body feels better.

I'll quit Monday. But don't whine when I'm all crabby, irratic... and showing my butt a bit more than usual!

Do I have some support?

Well me for one am a father and (I dont smoke anyways) I would never smoke in the house or allow anyone to smoke in my house. My kids come first and I dont want them to have to deal with the second hand smoke. Thats selfish and lazy, parents take your asses outside if you cant handle not smoking.

I think picking your nose and eating it is worse, but I could be wrong.

So you would kiss a girl that does that?

Posted by: Malley

Yeah, my wife does actually. I absolutly hate it! But I never see her do it and she actually doesnt do it around the kids either. Its like 1 or 2 a day and thats it. And whenever she is breast feeding and pregnant she didnt smoke either. I dont know why she decided to start back. Oh so nasty. She had actually quit whenever I got with her for like a year and then it started back up again.

I quit smoking 2 times before and now I quit forever , i just do it sometimes at vacations and when i'm off training but i won't smoke again ever, i gained weight after i stopped smoking and gains are much better , also when you smoke you won't be able to do the last most important 1-2 reps wich needs all your breath ....you'll workout will suck after maximum 30 minutes , oxygen getting in your body will decrease and you'll be toxicated by co1 ,so every thing will be affected , your ability to do work, sleeping ,getting the benefits of the nutrients in the food eaten , etc.....

Posted by: assassin

smoking + sports = noway .... though there are many athletes that do light smoke at their off seasons or far away from important events ,and nomore than 2-4 cigarretes a day i guess...
