hey I've had a groin pull for 3-4 weeks and it wont go away it doesn't seem any better it may be worse. It isn't effecting my training and it doesn't give me huge discomfort. It only is aggravated when stretched. Any tips on how to help it heal. I've been doing light stretching and some light adduction work.
Trouble funk anyone?

Just curious..how do you know you have a groin pull?

Posted by: Brutus_G

It hurts when pressed in the inner groin area. It seems to be slow healing. I guess it could be a tear if that's what you mean.

a) stop training if it hurts.

b) make sure you don't have a hernia

3) if something gets pulled then you over stretched it. why would you want to be trying to stretch it more? no shit it hurts! take time off, ice, let the tissue repair itself, and then work on getting back to normal fucntional capacity.

It doesn't hurt to run, squat, lunge, sumo deadlift, sumo squat, leg press,1 leg squat, clean, snatch, front squat I hav'nt had any exercise hurt it.I actually got it from doing glute ham raises It doesnt effect my weight training. Should i take time off if it doesnt hurt while training? Is there any way to check for a hernia other than the doctor? Foam roll?

i don't understand.....it either hurts or it doesn't. If you can do all those things without pain, then what is the problem?

I did some research on line and it's not a hernia. My groin only gives pain if it is stretched or pressed down upon its weird because i could do a split before i hurt it. It just doesn't seem to be getting better despite not doing any exercises to aggravate it. I guess I'll just ice it and not do any stretching or anything stupid

get it checked out if it is still giving you problems.

Groin injury's are notorious for healing slowly...

Good experience I've had, is that once the pain starts to subside, it usually does so quickly.

I wouldn't stay away from stretching though... I would increase it
to more varying motions and be more gentle

You might add some stupidly low weight, hi-rep, slow tempo, hip flexor lifting

(if you see a specialist, they will likely advise you to do some therapeutic stuff anyway)

I wouldn't stretch it.

Just got diagnosed with groin pull myself. Doc gave me some anti infammatory drugs and told me to rest for 2 weeks. If I did any physical activity, heat the area before hand and ice afterwards. Hope that helps.

I will also incoperate this into my program. Tight spandex boxers help it also.
