I was a member somewhere else before they closed the site. Well there whenever a member was banned it was in red under their name, BANNED. I thought it would be a good ideal to do it here. Any thoughts or comments?

Posted by: IainDaniel

Nope I don't agree. No need for them to be recognized for there retardedness.

Posted by: Malley

Just a thought.......looks like thought shot down. Figured I would ask.

Actually Ian I was thinking. I wouldnt say it gave them credit or anything it would simply be interesting for us members. I mean thats what this site is about anyways the members. To be honest I couldnt care less about the others. But its always interesting to know whos still around and whos not. U know?

Well if it's any consolation, I think their user description disappears when they are banned..

Posted by: Malley

Yeah it does, it goes back to member.

Posted by: mike456

if they are banned, when you click there name, there will be no option for pm

I love the idea. On somethingawful they put people on probation, and this is what their avatar becomes during the probation period.

I think it is funny.

It looks like this when you surf the forums.

Not thta I am comparing the forums, because Im and somethignawful are different animals. I like SA because the foums have catchy little things and stuff, but I like IM for the people.

Posted by: Malley

I like that....but no probation here. There should be like a warning level. Like the US and their security levels. Whenever it comes to their final infraction it could be on red behind their avatar.

it does not reflect well on the board, especially to new members, to have a "banned user" title on banned members.

Posted by: Malley

You are right. Just thought I would give er a go...

Posted by: IainDaniel

mike why do you care. You really need to stop crying.

Posted by: Malley

Hey dont step on my thread. Make your own....dont be getting my thread deleted.

Posted by: Malley

Actually after some of things that have went on here you are completely right robert and ian. I agree 100%....

We don't do that at sites I mod on. If they have a custom user title, that stays, if they just had the forum default title under their name, then it is changed to banned. The ones who are banned are for a reason so there is no reason to really advertise it to others.

Yeah and as I wrote like last post, nevermind....we had some jerkoffs banned here lately and now things are better!

I'd like to see something similar to this also. I often have extended periods of time away from IM, so when I go back and read threads I missed, like this one, it's a pain to be responding to posts from users who no longer exist, or wondering which users are and aren't banned, especially recently.

I understand the notion of cleaning up the boards recently and am all for it, but sweepng it under the rug and forgetting about it isn't the best way to handle it.

This is all IMHO, I know this is not my board and it's not my call.

And whats the difference between a super mod and regular mod?

Mods have "power" only in the forum they are a mod

Super mods have "power" in every forum on the board plus additional abilities like being able to ban.

Posted by: IainDaniel

Oh I can ban with my mod powers.

Low and behold....watch!

Posted by: goandykid

Any position on my first post Rob?

Posted by: IainDaniel

Hasn't he already given you his opinion on this matter?

Do you know when to drop things?

I brought up completely different points that he didn't respond to, I was jsut wondering.

And as I said in my first post, maybe the mod's rush to dropping things isn't the best approach.

Having said that, please dont me.
