Just wondering if taking advil or asprin helps heal an injury faster. If not, i would rather deal with the slight pain than put stuff in my system.

Define the injury, including location on the body, symptoms, duration and what you have done since to address inflammation.

More than one way to skin a cat.

My latest pain has been lower back pain. Don't think it is serious. I havent played raquet ball in years and decided to go back to it for cardio work. Lots of twisting movements involved in this sport. Feels like a bruise whenever I plant my feet and squeeze.
The pain is almost gone now but I wonder if any drug could have sped up the recovery. As you know athletes especially weightlifters wake up with elbow, wrist, knee, ankle, etc pains from the previous workout. Half the time I can't figure out what caused the injury. One week later the pain is gone and another one starts. Just wondering if reducing the swelling allows for faster healing time or if it only masks the problem. I can't see any swelling, I just assume that is what causes pain.

No those things will not heal, they only mask the pain.

If you can find some Cissus it's a great anti-inflammatory and analgesic. A company named USP Labs really brought this product to the forefront of this industry. I have been using bulk powder in my AM shake.

These guys carry USP and the bulk cissus http://www.nutraplanet.com/manufacturer/75/list.html and I have been told that Taylor is looking into getting their stuff. http://www.taylorsnutrition.com/

I agree. I try and steer people away from them inbetween workouts because it masks pain and then they think they are okay to train when they really aren't.

Raquet ball is a lot of lateral movement, a lot of rotation and a lot of impact. You need to address issues of stability and rotary strength before going and playing something so high intensity like that, because you have not played for awhile, you are deconditioned to the movement. This is the problem with most people......they think "tennis would be fun!"....then they go play for 6 hours a day on sat. and sun. and wonder why they are in pain. You need to conditoined your body to be able to handle the demands you place on it.

1) rest your back
2) start to slowly incorportae raquet ball back into your regime
3) look at your training program and condition and prepare your body for the sport you desire to play.
