I jsut saw it. It's nothing at all.
The Nut: He was getting the players attention, it looked far from painful, and it's a high level game (D1 ncaab) Love tap to the lower jaw, open hand, didn't swing through jsut tapped w/ slight force to the guys jaw/cheek. Any other coach and it would be yesterdays news, I bet you could find video of alot of the D1 coaches doing the same thing |
|
I agree. Don't look away when Coach Knight is speaking to you...end of story. I would have done the same thing to my own kids if they pulled that crap.
It's only an issue because it's Bob Knight. |

That's the point, what other coach does that?
He's a jerk would like to see him get laid out by one of these kids. |

Has everyone seen that video of Jim Rome getting assaulted by that hockey player on his show about a decade ago? Jim Rome was being a douche bag and kept calling the hockey player a anme thinking he was untouchable b/c he's on tv, and the nhl player speared him.
Sec, I'll find it. |

It was Jim Everett from the rams, Rome came calling him Chris Everett the female tennis player.

He kept calling him Chris Everett a female tennis player at the time.

Jim Everett was a frikkin pussy though. KING of the phantom sack!
"Uh oh, is that wind!? I better just take the sack." |
| Following the 1989 regular season, Everett was reportedly "shellshocked" from the multiple times he was sacked and was hit during the NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers (the 49ers won, 30-3). At one point in the game, Everett was so rattled that he collapsed to the ground in the pocket merely in anticipation of yet another sack, even though the 49ers' defensive players actually had not yet reached him — a play thereafter known as Everett's "phantom sack". Everett thereafter tended to shy away from hits, and later acknowledged that his confidence was never fully restored. |

He called him Chris, referring to Chris Evert (not Everett), one of the best female tennis players in history. Whether you like Jim Everett or not, Rome proved he was and still is, a fucking pussy.
Jim Rome should be put in a bubble and released in the middle of Iraq. We'll then see what a big man he. |

Knight is a jerk off. Always has been. I cant believe someone would want to play for him! Hes lucky he hasnt gotten his ass kicked yet. I for one have a short fuse and it wouldve taken one time and he would be laying on his back lookin directly at the ceiling.

I have the utmost respect for Bobby Knight AND his coaching style. He demands respect, doesn't bend or take any shit from the media, administration, or his team. If I was being recruited out of HS I would highly consider playing for him Double D. And as far as you knocking out your own coach, you would never play organized basketball again. Knight is a supremely intelligent man who is extremely knowledgeable in the sport from past experiences. I would jsut shut up and listen to him.

|
Heres a question for all: What if Knight got slapped by one of his players for arguing with them? Would the school let it go and say it was ok? Whats the difference.....

|
You should watch a sit down interview of him or a documetnary on him or something. He's very smart, funny, and suprisingly calm and collected off the court. On the court he demands respect and gets it. The kid was zoning out and he gave him a love tap.

Excellent basketball coach. It just strikes me as ironic that he expects his players to be disciplined, not make stupid mistakes, and play within their emotions, yet he throws these tantrums. He's so screwed up that he was driven out of his dream job in a place where he was worshiped, even though he is one of the top coaches in the country.
|
|
Like I said, he has certain philosophies and a coaching style that works, he doesn't bend or waver on either of those. If that causes some people to hate is style and requires him to move to a diff school, so be it. Indiana never should have gotten rid of him, the final straw was a joke.
|
|
I think the Indiana situation was a little more than a "so be it" to him.
