yo team
so im wanting to start back into deadlifting, i had an inguinal and an umbilical hernia surgically repaired about 10 weeks ago. last time i saw my doctor (6 weeks ago) she said i could start doing what i used to in the gym, just start in easy and use pain as a guide for how hard to push myself. But im still wary to start DL'ing and squating, since they create a good amount of intra-abdominal pressure. i do think i need to start doing them though, even if with really light weight.
anyone have any experience with coming back from this? my main question is how i should structure my workouts with said exercises, should i keep the weight light and go for maybe three 10-15 rep sets to get the motions going again, or should i use a lower rep scheme with light to moderately light weight and just not push it too hard. i a little worried too many reps might be bad.
my thoughts now are to use 95 to 135 pounds for my sets and do a good amount of reps (10-12), not worrying about adding weight for a few more months.
any advice/help/experiences appreciated.

I haven't had a hernia, but I've had to bounce back from diverticulitis. The incision was down the middle of the lower part of my stomach. When I started up again, I began with 95 lb for squats and 115 for deads. I stayed in the 8-10 rep range for most exercises, not coming close to failure. Deads were in the 3-5 rep range, again far from failure. You will bounce back. Just don't rush it.
