I think the Anderson Silva/Travis Lutter matchup is better than most people think it will be.

Yeah it should be really good. I respect both guys a lot. I liked how Anderson came into the octagon after Lutter won the finale and congratulated him and joked with him. Lutter also seems like a down to earth, hard working family man who can hold his own on the ground. It would make for a great story for him to beat the odds.
It's a good matchup and we'll probably get our first look at the middleweight champ on the ground too. |

Damn that blows fore serra. He could use more training anyway before he gets in there with GSP
I wonder if they'll find a replacement or just scratch him off the card.

If Serra is guaranteed a title shot, they should scrap his fight so he doesn't get beat by some other chump.

If he gets beat he's not worthy of the shot anyway. He should fight whomever is next in line IMHO.

Iain I take it back ... you're right. The next UFC card sux balls. It just needs more fights. Only having Cro Cop and Rampage is not enough. White needs to buck up and fill out a two hour pay-per-view or he is ripping people off.
I wouldn't pay for that ... to fricken skinny. Fill that card out Dana ... ... WTF?!?!?!? |

So Sanchez? Maybe a Parisyan rematch?
![]() I think Serra is coming in severely underrated here. He gave Parisyan all he could handle and I think he'd give Diego a great fight too. Remember Serra is a natural 155er too, so we might see him as LW soon, especially since he won't beat GSP. |

Sanchez is supposed to fight Matt Hughes, I believe. That should be another quick fight.
You will see.
What are you talking about, he would stop Sanchez in the 1st or 2nd.

I'd say Sanchez by decision. His striking would earn him the decision. And he's too aggressive and powerful for Hughes to pull some submission or GnP.
Yeah it's probably the best division in MMA. A lot of guys with big futures. Parysian and Diaz have especially grown on me over the past couple years. Then you got GSP, Sanchez, Bj Penn, Koscheck, Fitch, ect. Crazy.
Yeah I would love to see so many match-ups. What do you think about a Koscheck/Hughes match-up? Would be interesting. Both really strong guys and great wrestlers.
I can't stand Koscheck so I'd be pulling for Hughes. Koscheck literally tries to take his opponents down the whole fight and when he takes them down lays on them until the ref stands it up. He repeats this the entire fight. That's how he scores his points. So friggin boring.
Yes I know, I agree but with that said how do you think he would fare with Hughes? I doubt he would be able to hold Hughes down. I think Koscheck is extremely talented in wrestling. I would like to see someone push him around and make him work. Who is that guy that beat him? Not McDonal or w/e his name is. Or is it.
Hughes would destroy Koscheck simply because even if Koscheck was lying on him he could submit him in a hearbeat. And he would knock Koscheck out in a hurry standing up. No contest IMO.
I think Serra should fight Sanchez and just make it a contender match - Sanchez should have a title shot by now anyway. I'd love to see Sanchez vs. Hughes though because they have very similar styles, Sanchez is just younger, faster and hungrier. Wouldn't mind seeing a Leben/Koscheck grudge match considering both of them have two more years experience under their belts. |

You nailed it on the head with this one, but Leben is starting to be exposed for the phony that he is. Would be exciting though considering how much they dislike each other. Kos wins easily.

I havent seen this Kos...or maybe I have, in any case, if that really is his style that Ill be routing for Hughes too if they fought. Laying around for long periods of time remind me of the all time disliked fighter, Royce Gracie.
. |
You're right, Royce Gracie is better known for his dominant stand up.
At least when Gracie was lying on someone he was always looking for a submission - barely moving, but looking for a lock or arm or ankle to put into a hold. Koscheck doesn't even know how to do that which is why he'll never be a top contender. Boring, yes - because we're used now to standup knockouts like Liddell and Silva. Different fighting styles.
Plus Gracie mostly fought without weight classes. You try to keep a 300 pound guy on the ground when you only weigh 160. He was good. |

After watching Kos last night, Id have to say he is boring, but not as bad as Gracie. I see where BoneCrusher is coming from, but to compare his action to Gracie's is nuts.
Kos = ![]() Gracie = ![]() |
At least Kos attempts the stand-up game. Gracie didn't even throw punches, and when he did they were open hand shots..
