While the opponents have yet to be named Sylvia, Hughes, and Franklin are all on the card for this one. Rumor has it Franklin will fight Jason MacDonald, and if they get his contract straight, Sylvia will take on Brandon Vera. Should be a decent show.

Nice Vera/Slyvia should be excellent. Franklin/McDonald will also be a good match-up. McDonald is a really tough and talented fighter. I still pick Franklin to win that one.

Posted by: Goodfella9783

Hmm you think they'll throw Hughes a bone or do you think they'll put him in with Sanchez, Parysian, ect.

Posted by: Doublebase

I wanted to see Swick fight Franklin. I wonder what he's been up to.

Posted by: ponyboy

Some people are saying they are throwing MacDonald to Franklin to boost Franklin's confidence. I don't think MacDonald is ready for Franklin, he has no standup at all although another upset like his last two would be pretty awesome. Gotta support a good Canadian boy.

I think they'll give him a cupcake.

Yeah, I think they are punishing MacDonald for tearing though 2 TUF fighters.

I think it will be a good fight actually.

Looks like Gabriel Gonzaga will be facing off against Big Tim in March and hopefully set up a summer match-up against Cro-Cop!!!

Also Hughes will get Chris Lytle.

God dammit.

I wanted to see Vera fight Silvia. OR. Cro-Cop vs. Silvia, but a lot sooner.

Yeah me too, but apparently Vera and Dana White don't get along too well. Sucks for Vera, and us.

Posted by: AKIRA

This White guy seems to not get along with a lot of the better fighters.

I'd like to see Hughes face off with Sanchez myself. Diego needs an ass whooping

Does anybody else think that Dana White is gay?

They should put him in against someone that can beat him then.

Posted by: Pedigree

Columbus is just over 3 hours away, so I'm taking the whole family. Should be a good show.

FYI: Tickets go on sale January 9th.

Yes he does and a lot of people do. I am not one of them.

Me either. Diego has alot of heart, but he has gotten to be very cocky. Hughes probably puts his life on the line everday training so he doesn't loose another fight. IMO Hughes will kick the shit out of him.

Posted by: ReproMan

Not a doubt in my mind Sanchez can beat Hughes. Diego's instincts and elusiveness on the ground almost put him in a category of his own. The only guy in that division that can and probably will beat Diego is GSP.

You are right about his ground game. He has surprised me before. That would be an awesome fight for the ufc.

That's the clincher right there. At first glance it seems that he does nothing well. His punches look weak, his form is poor, and he moves awkwardly. Yet he has enough skill and power to knock a Joe Riggs out, who had never been knocked out before. He has enough strength and agility to counter Karo Parisyan's judo throws (who is a world class judo practitioner) and end up on top of almost every exchange, and when he didn't end up on top, he transitioned to Karo's back on more than a few occasions. He is absolutely relentless, always applying pressure, like he did in the fight with Nick Diaz. Diego has an uncanny ability to adapt in times of duress and that coupled with his raw talent and ability, makes him the #2 welterweight IMO. He surprises me every time he fights.

I called it! Last paragraph!

Is Jason MacDonald the same MacDonald from UFC 66 against Leben? Damn, Franklin might be a little much at the moment...I think MacDonald could prove himself yet again though, he has a lot of heart and great JJ.

I think it could go either way but I give Diego a strong edge. I can see him being the welterweight champ by in the near future.

We've been watching Diego as he worked his way up in from TUF to KOTC where he won the belt. His stand-up still sux, but he always does somehow manage to pull it off. Vs Nick Diaz, who is a Bitch by the way, he won. Vs Karo, he won. Both were considered to be the fav's yet here he is with wins over both. If he'd just stay focused on his stand-up game and train train train like hell he'd be in contention with GSP. NOT for a stand up match but so he can survive 'til he can get it on thre ground. Diego Sanchez has shown that on the ground he is the champ.

Now several people say Hughes is gonna beat his ass. If it stays on the feet then yup, unless he somehow pulls another freaky wild flying knee outta his ass, he will get beat up. VS Hughes? Sanchez doesn't need the double leg that MAtt is good at avoiding, he'll take Hughes down with something else and just man handle the dude on the ground. I call it Sanchez by TKO on the ground in 2nd round vs Hughes.

We outta put up a betting pool on that one.

You think Hughe's stand up is that much better than Diego, neither is that great IMO but I think Diego would be just fine standing with Hughes.

Not so much that Hughes is a master, just that he is better and that Sanchez does not have a very stout chin. Hughes would eventually catch him and end it IMO.

Good display of Diego's JJ...not sure when this video was. He has a great attitude.

Posted by: BigPapaPump68

Hughes has gotten better at his stand up. I think he said before that he is working with Chuck Liddel. I met Matt a few years ago, hes a cool guy.

Posted by: BigDyl

Vera aint fightin' sylvia

I bet both would want to take that one to the ground. Cause a stand up contest between the 2 is so unpredictable and I'd bet that Hughes and Sanchez would just want to go down where they are both more comfortable, rather then stand and risk the KO.

Another thing about Sanchez is that I have never seen him run out of gas - he's intense from the opening bell right until the end and he's overwhelmed some of his opponents that way by never seeming to tire. Although I don't think I've seen any of his fights go to decision (I may be wrong). He definitely has a major asset there.

Didn't he beat Karo by decision? And Allesio as well ... in like UFC 59 maybe?

I was wrong he beat Allesio in UFC60 by decision ... it's all in sherdog.

Posted by: Goodfella9783

Yeah he beat out Karo by a close decision. I was pulling for Karo cause he's my boy, but Sanchez was just as impressive in that one. He's one of the guys I have the most respect for out of any of the TUF guys.

Posted by: BoneCrusher

Ya know I gotta ask ... WTF is up with not filling out the UFC67 card BEFORE they start filling out the UFC68 card?

Posted by: ponyboy

They've already probably sold out UFC 67 no matter who is on the card. UFC 68's tickets go on sale in four weeks I think. Trying to sell out faster.

It wasnt that close of a fight IMHO. Karo had some great throws and great strikes, it definitely wasnt one sided in any way, but Diego won all 3 rounds on all the judges cards I'm pretty sure. Remember that knee Diego threw that knocked Karo's tooth out? That was sick. I stillt hink DS is really really underrated.

I thought he won that one unanimously.

He was the first TUF guy that truly belonged with the big guys. Rashad and Bisping being the most recent.

I think they are pretty evenly matched in the stand-up department also.

I always liked Bisping. I think he is going to go far in this sport. He hits with some power. I look forward to seeing him fight in the future.

He seems like one of those soccer houligans, so I am a fan.

See I do have some standards after all. Where they came from or why I dunnno but I noticed them one morning and was like WTF ... but anyway. Tito was always an asshole to his opponents. This lst fight he was beat by a bad call from the ref ... he was doin a good job of not getting KO. But he didn't act like an asshole afterwords. He was fucking gracious in defeat. No pissing and moaning about the shit call, no Chuck is a can I could beat him . He was polite FFS!?!?!? Now I like Chuck ... Imma a fan even. Dating a porn star is a little out there though ... is Jenna (the Islamic name for heaven too BTW is pronounced the same way but spelled a lil' dif' ... Jannah) retired? Anyone have any idea?

Anyway my point is no frickin soccor houligans we are just getting our own punks broke in or wore out we don't need the British variety ...

Posted by: IainDaniel

Jenna no longer does porn. She just sold her site to playboy for like 30 million or something. She is a smart business minded porn star for sure.

Ohh shit now I love her then ... go Tito. I knew she ran her own show but I had no idea she was all that.

Nah it was closer than that. Scorecards went as followed: 29:28;29:28;30:27 -- Yes it was unanimous but it was great, close fight...I like this guy's perspective this is exactly how I saw it:
