It does have quite a bit of fat plus it's a tough cut of meat. There are many others that you could chose that would be better but if you like chuck then just account for the fat in your daily intake.

there are better cuts to use if budget is an issue.
I would go for sirloin if you can afford it, if not round steak is quite lean and good value.
