Now let me preface by saying that this game should be Michigan/OSU and not Florida. Secondly I do live in Michigan, but I am a Spartan fan.

Just looked at the score and OSU was down 20, this could be hard to come back frombut hell stranger things have happend.

yea, I think that the lay off between their last game this one was way to long. I mean, they haven't played since November!! It is like offseason. That is damn stupid. I don't know why they do that shit.

Not to be a dick but Florida hasn't played since November either ... so what's your point?

I do agree it's ridiculous that it's too long of a layoff though

should be michigan? correct me if im wrong, didnt michigan lose their bcs game?

Posted by: bio-chem

yea just checked. im right. michigan got spanked by usc and everyone agreed usc didnt belong in the championship game. looks like for once the bcs got it right with which teams went where. michigan had there chance, blew it and didnt deserve another. not only did they not deserve it, they were unable to beat usc and make a case that they deserved another shot.

on a happier note, a playoff system should come into effect in 2010

their layoff wasn't as long as OSU. It is still no excuse. They played like shit. Troy Smith sucked ass.

Should have been now ... Boise State is undefeated and LSU looks really good too. I wonder how the LSU-Florida game would turn out if they played each other.

didnt they already play in the regular season. or did you mean right now? and i agree. boise state winning there bcs game this year is the ultimate arguement for a playoff system. gotta be a hell of a cinderella

Florida beat them 24-13 or something, LSU really wasn't a threat after half-time.

I think we can put that debate to rest!

Either way, I hate both these teams. Kind of worked out on my side. Except for, you know, that Rose Bowl.

Posted by: goandykid

Having said that, I was hoping OSU would pull this out for BIG10 purposes. PlusUrban Meyer is a manslut.

I'll always like Cheater McSweatervest better than Meyer the Cryer.

Posted by: goandykid

Funk, the BIG10 needs to change their schedule. OSU had 50 DAY LAYOFF and Michigans was 43 days. The better teams won both games, but having 2-3 extra weeks of gametime is definately an advantage to our opponents.

Ohio State should have just stayed home. What a frikkin joke.

The Big Ten needs to split the conference in 2 divisions and play a championship game like the SEC and the Big 12. This way the best team goes and there is less of a layoff. Of course, I don't think the Big 10 All Stars could have beaten Florida last night.

What year did the BCS get it wrong? The BCS is bashed, but it usually gets it right.

I am undecided on a playoff.

The only problem this year, is that Boise St. should have been given a bigger game to show where they really belong.

Bigger than a BCS game against a team that many thought deserved a shot at the championship (if they were not screwed in Oregon?)

I think Boise was treated very fairly and I don't anyone could argue that they REALLY are worthy of a shot at the big trophy.

Posted by: IainDaniel

Why leave that open with an undefeated season though. There is only one way to decide whether they deserve to be there, they have shown there determination.

Notre Dame shouldn't have been in a BCS game. Put Boise St. up against LSU. That is the problem with the system it comes down to dollars, and Notre Dame is in there cause of TV ratings.

I think Boise St. was treated fairly as well. They had all they could handle with the #9 team. An LSU or a Wisconsin would have killed them.

We don't know that until they play. Matchups are completely different. To compare a victory against one team and determine they would have got smoked by such and such a team is retarded.

For example if ND and USC didn't play, we could then say ND is better then USC cause they beat UCLA where as USC couldn't do it.

I wouldn't. UCLA sucks. USC had a bad game. They'd win that matchup 9 of 10.

Posted by: IainDaniel

But they didn't and that is the point. You can't compare teams until they have met head to head. Sure on paper LSU might kill Boise St. But paper means shit.

Not really. On paper Florida is the better team. On the field, Florida is the better team.

which year did LSU and USC split the championship as co-champions? also the year auburn went undefeated and didnt get a shot at the title.

Posted by: dg806

Florida came in with an attitude because no one were giving them a chance. They wanted to prove a point and they did. The best team won. The layoff had nothing to do with it.
Hasn't the last 7 of 9 been won by the underdog?? Proves you don't know what will happen until they play. A playoff system is definately needed!

That was 2004 when USC, Oklahoma, and Auburn were all undefeated.... USC killed Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl and Auburn squeaked by Virginia Tech in the Sugar.

The AP voters should have voted Auburn for the split.

LSU (BCS) and USC (AP) split in 2003.... LSU, Oklahoma, and USC all had one loss. USC was #1 in every human poll, yet #3 in BCS. LSU beat Oklahoma in the sugar (I think) and USC beat Michigan in Rose.

They changed the BCS system because of that.
