They fired everyone and now the police are listening to the tapes again and are thinking about charges. I heard part of a clip where they said they know it could be dangerous and kill someone. They may be liable.

What ever happened to personal responsibility. The DJ's did say there was a danger and if the contestants choose to continue that's on them. We are too letigious of a society.

No doubt but this is a completely different animal then your usual whiplash case.
Yes, a waiver was signed but the responsibility lies with the event host not the contestant. Think about it. Would you ever see a radio station host an event like this with tequila? Of course not. The reason why is very evident. These people totally underestimated water intoxication and they'll pay dearly for it. Waiver or not. |

Lawl, and she failed.
I'm an ass. It said that she was doing it for her kids. I guess she really wanted to get that Wii. The tragic part is she was putting herself through the pain for her kids who will now grow up with no mother. |

Look AmericanTwit the DJ's said they knew of the dangers but when they interviewed the woman after she bailed she was recorded on radio saying she didn't feel well and had a headache. Now anyone aware of the dangers would know that thats a sign of water intox and wouldn't have let her leave, they would have had the emergency staff (who they failed to procure for the event)attend to her. She said someone told her that it was her brain telling her to puke and once she did she would be alright and one of the Dj's snidely remarked "Who told you that one of the interns?"
Then they just let her walk off to her vehicle which in her state was like letting a drunk get in his car and drive off, she could have passed out at the wheel and killed more people. Which is another case for gross negligence.... |
