Lifting causes common cold

I’m 30 yr old and have been lifting for 15 years. My typical routine gives me 4 workouts a week. Each workouts includes 60 – 80 mins lifting and 30 mins easy cardio. I’ve noticed that whenever I keep this up for too long, say 4 to 6 weeks, I will usually come down with a flu. Sore throat for the first 2 days then fatigue and running nose for the next 10 days.

I’ve switched my workout to 2 / 3 weeks on, 1 week rest and have been able to be illness free mostly.

Last week, I got the muscle tech 15 days program including the creakic, gakic and leukic. I rested for 10 days, where I jogged about 3 times and then went hard core to start the 15 days program. I worked out the first 2 days and by the end of my second workout I felt a lump in my throat. I took enchineacea before bed that night and woke up with a bad sore throat. The throat soreness lasted 3 days with a little running nose on the 3rd day but by the 4th day I felt ok and even went running.

I consume about 5 grams of l-glutamine, 1g of vit c and a Vit b complex everyday.

Does anybody know how to strengthen the immune system because I am getting sick way too easily. A million thanks in advance…

Trouble has an immune system strengthing protocol of some sorts.


Try some probiotics and ecinacea.

try not to train so much. no more 2 hour gym workouts Since I started working out I get sick alot less

Rephrase That Overtaining Causes Common Cold
Hit some ZMA before bed
Get some sunlight if any if not up vitamin D t o 2000 ius may want to verify by testing.
balance zinc with copper in a 15:1 ratio
1000 mgs vitamin C in sodium ascorbate or ester C BID or TID
400 ius vitamin E mixed tocpeherals
100 mgs coenzyme q 10 -extremely important for immune system..
200 mgs samme BID

if you want my personel opinion. it is also partially from the big amount of ppl that are sick and touching the bar. then you touch it and get the germs.

Don;t forgett about washing your hands in the restroom then opening the door which contains all the germs LOL
