To much with the Shoulder Machines?

I always normally do shoulder press machine, and the one with the overhead pully. Is this just stupid to do both, isnt doing a free weight shoulder press just as good?

free weights are pretty much always better. let the old folks and kids use the machines

the old folks don't need the machines if they can avoid it and the kids should NEVER be on the machines.

Yeah, free weights are better in 99% of situations.

agreed

free weights > machine if you can help it....

almost all machine workouts can be turned into the a free weight workout if you think creatively (thats how they came up with the machine, someones free weight routine)

yea, machines can be used for some rehab situations. There are rare situations where I use machines. I have one guy right now that we have to do everything on a machine in a stable position (except for DB curls and shoulder raises which we do standing and have him work on bracing). But, that is a super rare case.

I thought it would be like consitancy as number #1 but what do I know, I noticed difference in my shoulders even with the machines. I have switched that over now though.

Gotta phase all the rest over to free weights still.
