Romanian goes down to passed your knees/mid shins.

Aye, for the most part your legs stay in a slightly bent position throughout the RDL so the movement is just at the hips, but in a conventional one they almost straighten out so the knees are used too.

What do you mean? When you pick the barbell off the floor, the knees are more flexed than they would be during a romanian.

I mean when you lock out, not at the start of the lift, lol :P
