I was joking. What are you getting when you go to Outback? It's so easy to cheat at that place.

Posted by: Tahoe

When you do cheat do you just go for it? Like a half of chocolate cake, cut in half, with a half pound of butter warmed with chocolate milk? Fettucini Alredo?

Or do you cheat with moderation?

Well, I NEVER cheat in moderation... my stomach always hurts after I'm done. But, I only cheat with one meal... soooooo

Coconut Shrimp for an appy
Big Rib eye steak, medium rare with LOTS of horseradish
Potato with everything on it
Salad with fatty ranch dressing, but no croutons (I don't like their croutons)
And of course, dessert! Maybe something really chocolately....

No, wait - Cold Stone for dessert

Damn I'm getting hungry now

I NEVER NEVER NEVER cheat with sugar. I am on a hugeo cut so synthetic sugar will sabotage me in the worst not to mention my body doesn't respond well to sugar at all. What I do is have a day where I drink a few glasses of wine with the Pops and eat a nice meal (usually grandma's finest Italian cooking) but very rarely I will enjoy a nice resteraunt or some greesy Outback. I ALWAYS keep the meals under control and still stay within my daily macros. If you abide by some self made rules, a cheat meal once a week will actually be a good thing... mentally and it's always something to look forward to. Sundays are always a good day for me.

This may be off the track, but do you notice, when you're cutting - (I do) that when you have a few drinks, that sugar just makes your viens pop out of your skin?? that is so freaky to me

Honestly, since I've started this cut, I haven't touched a grain of sugar or sweetners and since I drink my liquor straight, I dunno. I can say that wine gives me some SICK popping veins. Not sure why but it's pretty damn cool.

Very good choices. I like the shrimp and if I'm thinking of the same app, I eat the bread that the shrimp are served on (I should say I did prior to my diet). Damn good.

BTW, the french fry apetizer at Outback is simply amazing. Cheese and bacon on the top. Oh brotha.

Posted by: katt

Its been so long, I forgot completely about the butter & garlic soaked bread under the shrimp... yum

And after getting all psyched about cheat night...my son is very busy with school tonight, my sig other has a cold so we agreed that February 14th is actually tomorrow night.

Its all for the better, I'm grilling the steaks and lob and I'll have more time tomorrow.

I'm ready for a visit to Outback because of this thread.

it is because alcohol dehydrates you (and the sugar).

Those all sound like very weak cheat meals. I have a whole cheat day set aside for myself on Sundays. This sunday was a little weak but consisted of pancakes with syrup, milk, brownies and protein for breakfast. Then i didn't eat anything until dinner (which was only like 4 hours after breakfast, lol) at which point it was a couple of glasses of Cabernet savignon, stuffed ziti in vodka sauce, 2 loaves of warm bread with butter, fried calamari, baked clams, stuffed shells, then shrimp and scallops over linguini in some kind of creamy reddish/pink sauce, then i finished my friend's steak assiagi with garlic mased pototoes, then a chocolate mousse cake with cappucino and rock candy, a bunch of after dinner mints then 3 more brownies before going to bed in a wine/sugar induced coma.

That was yesterday for me....I made a seared ribeye with an arugula salda w/roasted bell peppers. For a side I made redskin mashed potatoes with the skin on and drizzled with freshly grated parmesan cheese. It was yummy...

BF took me to Olive Garden (my choice) for dinner Calamari, salad, breadsticks, seafood alfredo and don't forget the wine

Ahh... Thanks for explaining that

The only bad thing about the whole "cheat meal" .... And I know 100% it's going to happen on Saturday after eating all those small meals for so long.

I'll get in there, order my appy & salad & bread and be completely stuffed by the time my steak is put on the table...

I'll have a few bites of steak & potatoe and that'll be it....

That why I forgoe the appy and bread myself. Wife and I split a 1/2 order of cheese fries there and that was killing me to do. That was the bad part really I was having a cheat meal and couldn't enjoy because I felt guilty.

I have a cheat meal once per week, usually the same thing each week at the same time (creature of habit!).

I'll go to a local tavern/bar (The Wooden Tap for those in CT) and get an order of 'Bar Bites' and a heap of fries. Essentially a burger cut into four pieces on small buns. I haven't had a craving for sugar in quite some time, but fried/grilled food is first on my mind every Saturday an hour after back workout! (Ok, who am I kidding, I start thinking about it Friday afternoon!!).

So true. i use to pound down 2 bowls of pasta and countless meatballs before I started my mission and now, I eat a half a bowl and my body is saying no more so then I'll usually just throw down some more meat or meatballs and call it a meal.
