2 cans chic peas
4 cloves garlic, crushed
Juice of 1 lemon
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil or 1/4 cup + 3 Tbsp. flax oil
½ tsp. ground fresh nutmeg, cardamom, black pepper or ¼ cup fresh herbs, finely chopped (optional)
Preparation
Add ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.
Serve with whole grain or oat pitas or Gold N' Krackle all natural flatbread.
Chic peas, or garbanzo beans, are a low GI food and contain vitamin B6 as well as protease inhibitors, phytoestrogens and fiber.

My one buddy at College used to eat hummus all the time, im not very fond of the stuff. On the otherhand I might give this recipe a try. Thanks for the info W8!

Hummus is okay? Woo hoo, happy dance, happy dance. I LOVE the stuff. And the more garlic, the better! Yeah, I'm single, so I don't have to worry about such things!

Thx W8! I bounced at a Restuarant/bar about 2 months ago and would eat that all the time! I quit bouncing so I don't go there anymore. Hummus and heated pita RULES!
