hey i was just wondering if a low carb diet is the way to go on losing bodyfat while maintaining muscle. Ive done some research on the web and ive read some mixed reports. Some say they are good while others say they are not. My plan is 5-6 meals a day with most of my carbs at breakfast and maybe my 2nd meal.. Every other meal will be lean meat like chicken or tuna with of salad and veges. And doing cardio in the morning for 40 mins most days. Im 17 , 6ft and about 207lbs and am looking at losing roughly 15 lbs. Is this the way to go or do u guys reccomend another type of diet. Any help/ suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers.

Low carb means nothing in my eyes. Diet is all about the calories and what foods you get the calories from. If you only have 15 lbs to go, I would first calculate what your maintenance intake level is. Then, drop around 300 - 500 calories from maintenance levels. Monitor that for a week or two and see where you sit as far as fat loss. Then from there adjust your diet accordingly. Up your cals if your losing too much weight or lower them if your not losing a pound.

What does your diet and training program look like up to this point? Again, if your only looking to drop 15lbs of body fat while trying to maintain as much muscle as possible, I would focus your workouts around weight training with cardio as a secondary.

If you post your current diet (detailed meal plan) and current workout, it would be much easier to help you.
