I was just thinkin of it as Genetics show your potential for height, while lack of nutrition can cause stunts in growth, similar to smoking or whatever. I know what you're saying as logically, but sometimes things aren't that simple. Like I'm over 6 feet tall right now. I find it implausible that by eating even better (or drinking milk), I could put additional inches on as I please. I should have paid attention in class.

What I meant was that you'd need sufficient nutrients to achieve your full potential. I don't think adding milk to the diet would cause you to grow more than you would be destined to, but the calcium would probably help you get there.

Oh. Then you quoted the wrong person, because those were my original thoughts. I figured good nutrition is obviously beneficial; bad nutrition isn't; but eating especially good won't blast us past our potential point determined by genetics just because we eat well.

My pops is 5'10", mother 5'2" (no grandparents over 6')... I'm 6'3" and ate garbage as a youngster ![]() |
