Chris Horodecki 19 year old MMA fighter

I saw this kid fighting on the IFL battleground. Very impressive. Only 19 years old too. He already has great kickboxing skills. Awesome striker and very fun to watch. I hope to see him evolve into the UFC or PRIDE.

I thought he was 18? He was just in the IFL season opener last week. Kid is a phenom. Baby faced ass kickin' kid ... fearless, can take a punch, and hits hard.

Saw it this weekend when he fought Bart Palasinski and was not impressed.
He got rocked and then caught in a guillotine/front choke. He tries numerous times to grab the ropes to avoid being taken down and then tries to dive out hte ropes to avoid being subbed. And sadly the ref let him get away with it and he won a questionable decision.

Now, Vitor Belfort fought in the UFC when he was 18 or 19 and that was impressive.

Imma fan of this kid. He fights at 19 years of age against guys much older and much more experienced and knocks most of them out. Did he screw the pooch by using the rope defense? Not on purpose IMHO. Your statement that he attempted to "dive out hte ropes to avoid being subbed" is inaccurate. If you've ever been in a front guillotine you'd know that when your opponent pulls up and back you loose 80% of your guidance with your feet. In fact you try to hit your tippy-toes to relieve the strain on your neck while you try desperatly to get air and keep blood flow to your brain. When he got pushed into the ropes his legs were knocked out from under him and he just fell out. What you didn't mention though is that the kid didn't tap out. He kept trying to escape and would have to have been put to sleep before he would have tapped. Vitor tapped vs Overeem ... at the end of the clip you see Belfort tapping out.

Vitor started his pro career at 20. This kid started at 18. By Vitor's 9th fight he had two loses, while Hardeski is undefeated at 19 years of age with 6 (T)KO's and 3 decisions. At that 9th fight Vitor was 22 years old, while this kid is 19 at 9 pro fights. To be fair Vitor lost to Randy Couture and Sakuraba ... this kid hasn't had that kind of competition yet. And lets go there ... WTF is IFL really? All IFL really is is a glorified TUF. Seriously ... the guys like this kid coming up are fighting for pennies in the hopes that they'll get coached by guys like Pat Miletich and Bas Rutten as they make their way to the big show. The rest are not quite good enough to be in the UFC or Pride at that moment in time ... and just wanna try again to get back up to that level. Maybe stay busy, get more training ... whatever. IFL is NOT the UFC though so comparing an IFL fighter to a Pride or UFC fighter is unfair.

Not trying to start a brawl with you spacetime ... I just don't agree with you. This kid is good and we will see him rise to be a big show title holder someday.

Yes. He has a very fast, artistic style. His kicks are equal to his punches. One is not superior to the other.

Palasinski fought a clean fight and won round 1. Horodecki won round 2, and the third was a close but clear win for Horodecki. A draw at best for Palasinski.

You were right about the rope grabbing though spacetime ... that sucked.

i saw the one where he faught bart. I wanted chris to win, but honestly I thought he lost.

I thought Bart won the third as he got the better shots in and put Chris on his butt. Sure Bart slipped once and Chris got a couple takedowns but I felt Bart tried to finish the fight more but it could go either way. But perhaps the first round should have been scored 10-8 as Chris was rocked and almost subbed. It's not uncommon in boxing to get 10-8 rounds but it seems practically impossible to score a 10-8 in mma. I thought Chris was saved by the bell so I would have scored it 10-8 but he did show determination and came back and got the decision so I respect him for that.

Also I noticed that practically everytime Chris throws kicks he has to put his arm on the ropes for balance. Maybe the rope grabbing is permitted in the IFL but it seemed like cheating to me. I'll admit the kid has talent and promise but he also has a long ways to go. He has a bright future but he isn't the best fighter in the IFL.

As for Vitor well he's done now but in his teens he had a lot of promise. He fought a number of Vale Tudo matches in Brazil in his teens but I'm not sure if those count. Vitor had a lot of promise but perhaps the early success ultimately hampered him. Not sure if the same fate awaits Chris but it looks like he has what it takes to make it to the bigger shows. Not sure if he'll be a champ but time will tell.

And feel free to disagree with me it's my opinion and not fact. We are mature enough here to disagree and not result to petty name calling that takes place on other boards.
