I know im suppposed to eat 20x my body weight and 40/40/20(different for dif. people but that is the general). anyway. is it reall necessary for me to record this everyday or could i just eat as much as I can whenever i can and only eat healthy foods.

well, get 6 healthy meals and eat them daily that way you wont have to record anything.
everybody will say read the sticky, but if i had something stickied on my ass would they wanna investigate?

20X lb is a general number that you will have to play with as for the Ratio, meh it has been said alot around here lately so I will just leave with don't sweat it.
It is up to you. If you don't monitor your intake how can you look back analyze and improve your progress for next time.

wouldnt do terrible harm as long as you stay on a good diet

Not likely anything significant. But the more observations you make, the better adjustments you can make.

Do what you want to do. I am just answering your question.

Just eat, monitor and adjust accordingly. If you gain less than 0.5lb a week, eat more. If you gain more than 1lb a week, eat less. The slower you gain, the more percentage muscle it will be. Do you have your workouts & PWO nutrition sorted?

Say you were going to do an experiment with 2 mice. You want to see which one will gain muscle faster and more effectively.
Mouse A eat pretty much what he want, when he wants and worksout sometimes.
Mouse B has a regimented schedule and gets the optimal nutrition he needs at the right times of day. He works out dilligently with planned workouts every day.
Which one will have better results at the end of the experiment?
