Is CEE really better than Monohydrate?

I did alot of searching on here and it seems like there are conflicting views as to whether or not CEE actually IS more efficient than good old creatine monohydrate.

Apparently (and I'm sure most of you already know this) CEE is more readily absorbed and does not cause the bloating, dehydration, or diarrhea that is often accompanied with creatine monohydrate.

It seems, however, that because CEE is somewhat new that many feel it is relatively unproven and does not have the rpoven track record as monohydrate.

Can anyone weigh in on this? Is CEE legit, or are we better off getting good old powdered creatine?

p.s. I read where someone mentioned mixing creatine monohydrate with a hot beverage so that it dissolves a little better. Anyone tried this?

Thanks.

it is esterfied creatine, it is real, legit, etc. and it has a higher absorption rate the mono, however if you do well with mono use that; some people either don't get much from mono and/or have GI issues, and CEE is a blessing for them.

Thanks for you response Prince. Any thoughts on the idea of mixing monohydrate with a warm beverage for better solubility?

Posted by: Prince

yes, that is very helpful, but most people don't do it.

Tried it last night Prince. It completely dissolved!!

I boiled some water, mixed in the creatine, then added cool water so I could drink it down. Every LAST grain had dissolved. Why don't more people do this I wonder?

Would the added heat of boiling water denature the creatine? Creatine mono is tasteless and slightly gritty so most people just mix it with water a chug it down. As long is the heat has no adverse affects on it then use it in the manner that suits you.

i was under the impression heating up creatine broke it down faster and less was absorbed

Its about how your body responds.. just because something is not in a medical journal doesn't mean it has no value.

I have found the same thing, but part of that is that I took it as a cap, and not as powder.

I have switched back to mono, and probably will not switch back. Mono doesnt bother me, I can take 30 grams at once if I like with no stomach problems.

I take 20g before though, and 5 grams after workout.

I did accidently take 40-50g ( I pre-mixed some with gatoraid and forgot about it, so I put another 20 or so in) at one time though, I kinda freaked out and drank a bunch of water just to make sure i didnt dehyrdrate.

why would that make a difference?

that is excessive IMO. I hope you are drinking a shitload of water.

Mono doesn't even work for me, I take about 9g of CEE total a day in 3 servings.
