hi, I've been weight training for a year or so now and over the last summer had nice gains, but I'm not really that big to begin with 5'6" and 150lbs. but lately I have a hard time getting the pump, andhave been hearing quite a bit on overtraining, and I was just wondering how many exercises people do for each workout, because I was thinking maybe I am doing too many. thanks

i do anywhere from 16 - 21 sets per body part. Have you been getting tired? loss of apetite? small annoying injuries? if so, yes u need to take a week or 2 off

I have noticed that the more I worry about overtraining, the more I think I am overtraining. It's not true, I just psych myself into it. Just take a day off, then come back and do a good fun workout that you enjoy doing. That always works for me. Sometimes I just don't want to do that bodypart on that certain day and it morphs into thinking I am overtraining.

thanks . I don't have any symptoms, maybe a bit more tired than normal but its exams right now, so that could be. I just wasn't really sure if it was overtraining or I hit a bit of a plateau

Pump means nothings and you can grow without it. Worry about going through your workouts in the most effective ways possible. Design programs that shows forms of periodzation. Form it into cycles so you are training for what your goals are each and everytime.

Thats the stuff, now get to that gym and start lifting. Drink a big cup of coffee then run home.
