Shall We Dine?
By Machine

I look around a lot. I'm on boards like The Forvm even though me and technology don't exactly get along. I try to keep up on current studies. I even check out relevant data compiled in medical journals. You'd be surprised at just how relevant some of that shit is to our quest. I balance what I read with a healthy skepticism and weigh it out against what I know in my gut.

The truth when it comes to diet and training is clear. Both entities are complex and to varying degrees intertwined with one another. The acute study of both entities is too young and too incomplete or haphazardly done to guide us in a straight path to a direct outline for both. Now here is where the shit gets interesting. What makes this little world of ours so brilliantly sublime is our own involvement in the experiment. We are the lab rats... We write the history. We will ultimately decide the factors, variants, elements and environment of the case study. That is why the living part the literature for me is fused inseparably to the practical application of the outline of actions. In my own terminology, “All science and no guts will result in a failed attempt to become developed”.

For now let's focus on what we know. I know bread is poison for me. I know I can move a lot of salt and sugar which at certain times is very useful. I know that oats, brown rice and sweet potatoes are the only carb choices I move readily without storage. It took me several years and a lot of attempts to ascertain that info. I know that it is very difficult for a protein gram to be stored as fat because that's not what protein was bio-engineered for. Under optimal circumstances the body will burn fat for energy. Keep this as basic as we can. Consume body ready “real” protein at a level commensurate with your bodyweight. Consume calories at a level commensurate with your bodyweight and your caloric daily needs.

For example, don't eat 500 grams of protein because that's what a 275 pound man would eat according to this month's rags. If you weigh 180 then eat the protein appropriate to a 200 pound man. Aim your nutritional goals just above what they should be and keep it “clean” to avoid storage. Avoid “high glycemic” sources of carbohydrate unless you are one in a million and can eat candy when you diet for a show (I only know a few of these guys). Mainly consume “low glycemic” forms of carbs such as the foods I mentioned previous as well as beans and legumes of all varieties.

The more simple you keep things now the less fat you will have to fight through in the long run. Do not make the mainstay of your protein intake powdered shakes or bars or puddings or any of that other stuff. While those things definitely have a place, they are intended to "supplement" a balanced, well-conceived dietary plan. They were not created to replace food. Isolate what works for you. Balance that against what is practical and affordable. I'm not one of those Hollywood bodybuilders that tells you to eat prime cuts of beef 5 times a day or to consume fresh fish 4-5 times daily. I live in the fucking real world.

I love eggs because they are affordable and because they contain a complete amino chain. They are a complete animal as opposed to a piece of one. This article is not written with the idea that it will become your reference--only that you will use it as an overview or a simple guide. It contains the basic principles that have guided me to the development that I sought. In today's world, you are besieged by the “next big thing” and fads that are a mere temptation. The powers that be will tell you half truths and misinformation because they don't believe you will go find out for yourself. I know you are not to be fooled as I am not. Save the bullshit for the rodeo. I wont feed you crap and turn my back on you to count my money. I want to make sure the next big thing is you.
