What Are your calories at right now?

well, tell also what are your plans for them(going to adjust them soon for a goal or etc?) mine is around 3,000 but i'm trying to adjust them to fit my goals.

Right now a dismal 2700. 2900 is my maintnence.

I am 200 cals under my maintnence, so yeah I am dropping slowly. I wanna try to keep strength.

oh, my bad i read your first post wrong. i thought it said "2700-2900". thanks for making it clear. i think i'm going to drop my cals too 2800 and see how it goes. then if its goes ok for a few weeks drop another 200 cals.

Mine are at 2500kcal. I was at 2800kcal, but I was putting on weight so I reduced it slightly and giving this a try for a couple weeks. Strange part is that I am getting stronger in the gym and my upper body is getting larger. However the gut I am trying to lose hasn't budged. I measure every Friday morning and its been the same size for a month.

I just reduced the diet as of the 19th, so I'm going to let that run its course and see if that is the magic number. Being so new at this, I'm not 100% as to where my maintenance is and where I bulk or cut.

thanks guys much appreciated helping me so do u guys compiet im gonna find out if they have tornaments where i live antho need more work yet. My legs need to be more cut do u guys have any suggestions to that like my upper body is fairly cut but lower is not hamstring and quads arnt as much

As far as getting cut for your lower body, it's going to be mostly due to cardio, if you already have a good lifting regime for your legs which I would hope you do. What kinds of things are you doing on leg day?

If you've got the lifting and cardio down, then on a cut your legs should show striations and definition just like the rest of you.

As far as cals, right now I'm at about 2400-2450 on a lifting day, 2200 on off days, 3500 on IT/calisthenics days, and 3800 on distance run days. I'm on a cut right now. On my IT days I burn around 3700 cals, and distance running I often push it over 4000 burned.

Oh and to eat that many calories, have 7 meals instead of 5, space them about 2.5 hours apart instead of 3 or more, and eat SLIGHTLY larger portions. It adds up quick. When eating this much it becomes even more important that you're eating clean and timing everything right.

Right now I am still dialing in my diet, but I am right around 2600-2700 kcal. At 51, my metabolism is much slower then you young guys .

My diet has sucked ass for a long time, and the bad thing is it wasn't from ignorance. I know how to eat healthy, just got out of it for the last few years. From the best I can figure I was doing about 3000-3200 kcal of high fat foods, high sodium foods and with low fiber.

One thing I remember from dieting before was it is important to zig zag your calories to keep your metabolism sharp and not falling into starvation mode. Am I missing something, or are most people here trying to hit the same calories and macros day in and day out?

Mines about 2200ish and im on a cut diet.

I'm on a strict cut until I can lower the bf% to a point where my abdominals are visible and probably still cut for a bit more and get them well settled, because now adays no matter how strong or big your arms are...if you have even a little waist fat, your considered chubby or obese. I get pressure a lot by family and friends calling me fat eventhough im at %12 bf so i just wanna get them abs so i can change their views.

I Do P/RR/S gopros program and run 4 to 5 times a week maby if my body fat dropes more they might have more definition

i just put my diet through fit day and im on 2880 cals and i weigh 186 pounds thing is i want to cut im wondering if thats to many cals for a cut ill give it 2 weeks and find out. also my protein is at 266grams you guys recon thats to low??

You need to read more in the nutrition section. Your calories may or may not be low enough, but no one knows your caloric maitnence. You need to find that for yourself. Normally find it and subtract 300 or so calories until you lose weight, or inches. Your protein is ok, imo. Maybe a bit high, but not bad.

Yeah you can peek at Brazeneye's RMR thread, we were talking a lot about the specifics and details of finding the right caloric intake for your own personal needs.

Oh and if you have calorie burning surges like I do (off days I burn around 2900, but distance runs I burn over 4000) then you don't necessarily need to compensate by upping your calories a bunch. I don't want my intake on cals to go up and down so severely so I just eat more carbs and less protein/fat on the major burn days. This keeps my glycogen stores up and I won't be so apt to hit starvation mode.

There's no way you can bulk on 1200, my 5'2 ex girlfriend burns more than that without exercising. (and she's very slender)

Have to agree here. 1200 calories! Unless you are 80lbs its not going to happen!

rofl. my cut diet was 2000calories and it was horribly low. 1200...thats like dinner + a sandwich + glass of milk and a little junk on the side.

Most programs say I need to eat like 3500-4000kcal maintenance with my lifestyle, but I'm sure I'm not eating that much! If I had to guess I'd say I'm eating 3000kcal on a bulk.
