How important is Folic Acid as a Nutrient???

If you have a deficiency its very important. B vitamins are good for proper utilization/digestion of carbs/protein, proper nervous system function and lots of others that i don't know off the top of my head. I take a multi, extra C and a B-complex everyday as part of my supplementation regimen.

It's very important. It works together with vitamin B12 and vitamin C to metabolize protein in the body. It is important for the formation of red and white blood cells. It increases your appetite and stimulates the production of stomach acid for digestion and it aids in maintaining a healthy liver.

I actually ended up stumbling onto an interesting article on folic acid and pregnancy. It seemed to be worth reading anyway...
